Hello,
I had sent an email to WEDI about testing and compliance, and they suggested
that I open the discussion here. A little background: I am head of the EDI department
for a software vendor with a national market. We have been testing ANSI transactions
since last year with carriers.
The problem we are running into is that many carriers are not ready, whether
for testing or production. We have been told, among other things, that they'll take
tests but are changing their systems and we'll have to send tests again, or that
they'll test the transaction and test the adjudication at a later date, or simply that
they won't be ready until August or September to test.
I think that the plan to have carriers and submitters ready both at the same
time was not a wise idea. We as a vendor are basically beta testing the carriers
systems while they change and manipulate it. A good idea would be to have the carriers
ready by a certain date and then give the submitters time to get up and running.
Anyone have any ideas?
John
