What are other states doing with their provider types that are either
unmapped, or that are mapped to taxonomies that currently are without
definition? Is there anything we can do? Most of us, I assume, have about
90% of our provider types mapped but MA is asking about the remainder. We're
concerned not only with taxonomy with regard to getting the claim to
adjudicate, but also for enrollment purposes. We aren't getting any new
definitions to comment on from NMEH (because, I believe, they haven't
received any from NUCC lately) and, per the NUCC website, Medicaid agencies
aren't supposed to propose new definitions directly on the NUCC website. So
does everyone have a few provider types without clean maps? Does anyone want
to compare notes with Massachusetts?

For example, Massachusetts makes contract distinctions between the
reimbursement rates for inpatient and outpatient hospitals. Do other states
make similar distinctions? If so, how are they resolving that issue? Again,
I'm not only speaking about getting claims to adjudicate - a provider number
specific rate is feasible - but also about enrollment. What about the
states' departments of public health or mental health? How are those being
mapped?

Thanks and please let me know if anyone wants to talk, I'd be more than
happy to share what I've got so far.
