I was wondering, if I can't reconcile the information source, receiver or
service provider entities in a 276 how should I respond to the request? The
271 supports the AAA segment which allows me to respond with a '79' invalid
participant reject reason code. I don't see a way to do this for the 277
other than to report '26' entity not found at the claim level in the STC.

Another concern is that is that if I can't reconcile the entity but am
required to respond, I would be forced to build the outbound NM1 using the
data from the inbound NM1. That would mean our system might generate an
interchange with validation errors in it and this seems to go against the my
understanding of the HIPAA IG in that all NM1 should be populated from the
information sources data store.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Scott
