In reading the
270/271 Implementation Guide, there are situational fields that become required
in certain circumstances and there are
new required fields. I am
not seeing all the required elements on the clearinghouse or payer's DDE.
Example: In the Information Source Name, a required loop,
there is a field 'Entity Identifier Code'. This is a required element
within a required loop. Since the DDE's must be compliant for content,
would not a DDE have to be able to ask for Entity Identifier Code? Don't all DDE
vendors have to supply all the required elements?
