Follow-up Comment #1, bug #26749 (project weechat):
Seems like this is a bug in the input bar scrolling if there are control
characters in it, not just for topic.
You can test by typing a long line with control chars and then try to scroll
with left/right arrow, it'll mess up at the edge.
