Summary: Relay plugin: Messages sent over the relay should (maybe) remain unmodified by scripts Project: WeeChat Submitted by: dopefish Submitted on: Wed 02 Mar 2011 11:42:27 AM GMT Category: plugins Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: irc protocol Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: dev IRC nick: Dopefish _______________________________________________________ Details: If you use a script to modify incoming IRC messages, a client connecting to the relay plugin will see those messages post-modification. For example, I'm in a channel that uses FiSH encryption and I use a script to decrypt that text. If I were to connect to the relay plugin from another client, that client would see the messages already decrypted. I feel that in this case it defeats the purpose of the encryption since the decrypted text now gets sent over a public network. Perhaps there should be an option that lets the user decide whether text sent over the relay should be pre- or post-modification. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?32649> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Weechat-dev mailing list Weechat-dev@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/weechat-dev
