Summary: allow buffer names for irc.msgbuffer Project: WeeChat Submitted by: fixato Submitted on: Sun 11 Sep 2011 23:22:14 GMT Category: irc plugin Should Start On: Sun 11 Sep 2011 00:00:00 GMT Should be Finished on: Sun 11 Sep 2011 00:00:00 GMT Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Percent Complete: 0% Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: None IRC nick: FiXato _______________________________________________________ Details: Currently irc.msgbuffer.* (and fallback) only support weechat, server, current and private as options. Ideally I would like to be able to specify any buffer name (as a string), including non-existing buffer names (in which case a new buffer by that name would be created). Example: I would like to be able to have a separate buffer that just has all notices. It would be awesome if I could do: ++++ /set irc.msgbuffer.notice "notices" ---- And when a notice would arrive, WeeChat would create a new buffer on the fly by the name "notices" (should it not exist) and show the notice in that window. The current (integer) options should remain possible so you can still have notices show up in a private buffer, or the originating server buffer for instance, but the ability to add (string) buffer names would make the current system a lot more flexible. If creating new buffers on the fly is too much hassle, offering an interface/command to create new buffers manually (i.e. /buffer -create "notices") would also work. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/task/?11351> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Weechat-dev mailing list Weechat-dev@nongnu.org https://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/weechat-dev
