Paul, This is what I have so far.
I have created a table with the one-byte decimal data of the humidity. The other byte, until now, always is 85, but it is likely some bits of the "85" byte are used to extend the code. The question is which bytes? In the ideal situation we should have sampled data from 0 to 100% humidity. Now we only have a small band: 54-67 % humidity. In the the attached plot file you can see that the temp has influence. Currently I can't get MS Excel Analysis Tool Pack activated, so I got stuck right now.
