I use it on cron every just before my local midnight.  It sort of works 
. . . although I just ran the following interactively 3 times 
back to back, and it always reports the same missing record.  Sometimes 
it's better than others.  It's probably worth keeping unless
it's a bother when upgrading weewx from one release to the next.
