If you want to reduce the output to the screen, there's an example in the Customizing Guide <http://www.weewx.com/docs/customizing.htm#Customizing_a_service> of how to do this.
For the database, V3.5 has exactly the same schema as V2.0 or, for that matter, V1.0, or wview.
