Did you try to stop it then start it, I had the same problem with the /etc/init.d/weewx method, it won't start if it dies for what ever reason.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I did that several times but it will not start up. Both methods have the same effect. Mysterious for me is the syslog entry

10:45:40 kangoo systemd[1]: Started LSB: weewx weather system.
I will try another system (odroid-C) which runs Ubuntu and see what happens.
