According to all that I can find it is possible to set the option in
weewx.conf for 3.5.0, but I am not sure where or how as that bit appears to
be undocumented still. Otherwise it is an option when starting the demon
so could be implemented by altering the weewx start up script you
identified- or just adding the option --loop-on-init to the command line if
you start the demon manually.
