The wiki says it all.  You first need to verify it is indeed a classic 
lockup where reinserting the usb cable fails to restore communications and 
if it is then consider the powered switchable hub approach.

What makes you believe your problem has a different origin - from the log 
it looks like a classic failure to communicate over usb.
