weewx will run comfortably on a machine with far less than 2GB of memory.

i've had 6 instances of weewx running on an arm machine from 2010 with 
256MB of memory.  it struggled a bit to generate the forecast report, but 
otherwise chugged along quite happily for 4 years until the sd card died.

i've run weewx on old dlink and tplink routers.  it has no problem with the 
data collection and storage.  generating reports is the most memory/cpu 
intensive part of running weewx.
