Tom - out of curiosity (as I can only aspire to and dream of a Davis) - what would be lost by Davis stations using software generation instead of hardware? I know that on \FineOffset I have always used software generation and ignored the archived records on the station. One can always revert to the logged records when/if in a recovery mode of some kind, but for general useage surely software generation makes sense - doesn't it??
