Hi Gary, That sounds like a perfect solution. I did have Steel Series running since 2013-ish, when the first incarnations with weewx got going and it has worked well ever since on my WS2300 (albeit with 1 minute update).
I'm not too bothered about the wind rose, although it would be nice ;-) I also have the Davis Solar and UV sensors, so for me, it would be great to have those included in the 2.5 sec update. I am no software guru by any stretch of the imagination, but if I can be of any help, let me know.
