It has nothing to do with the age of the card. One point may be the quality of the card, there are various posts about what cards are referenced for intensive use. My card died at the age of 1 1/2 years. It was a 16 GB SanDisk Ultra Class 10. They are so cheap nowadays - buy a new one. "Must be" is a believe - you don’t know if it is corrupted or not.
