another thing to beware of is whether a variable is an observation from the
sensors or a derived calculation, for example temperature and dewpoint,
respectively.
for stations such as wmr200 that have partial packets and that emit derived
values, you should have 'hardware' for any derived calculations that the
hardware provides. for example, for wmr200 you should have this in your
weewx configuration:

[[Calculations]]
rainRate = hardware
windchill = hardware
heatindex = hardware
