We have lift off! Ubuntu Virtual Box 5.1.20 on Mac 10.12.4 Sierra on i5-4670 4/4 3.4/3.8 32GB RAM Used wee_device --clear-memory to clear Vantage Pro/2 data logger to hopefully clear corrupt archive record result - memory cleared - so far so good Just to play it safe.. Started from scratch... Installed clean Ubuntu 16.04.2 Installed weewx no errors indicated looked at log, just routine stuff - no errors - no bad archive type started browser Right on! Current conditions correct! I will check things tomorrow morning...
Thanks Tom, this is great! Now to take a look at the Python code. I just may go back and try the install directly on the Mac now that I know more about weeWX. It would be nice to eliminate the overhead of Virtual Box. Currently I have allocated 2 cpus to Virtual Box. My Mac is also running 2 security cameras using Security Spy. Continuous record - no motion detection processing so cpu load is no big deal. I do not expect any problems running weeWX in a VM and running the cameras at the same time.
