Tom, you disappoint me, I thought you would have seen those plots before. I wrote that generator a few years back when Greg and I were writing weeWX-WD. About 18 months ago I broke it out as it's own extension on GitHub <https://github.com/gjr80/weewx-stackedwindrose>. Neil Trimboy and I are currently working (somewhat sporadically) to teach it generate a few other types of wind plots as well.
