I quickly checked how calibration is working. The current data sent back by the station already takes the calibration into account. Therefore, the only useful command that the driver should be sending is the command 0x03. Also, the results are in °C regardless of the configuration of the console or of the sensors, so there is no need to check the configuration first either.
