   First, thank you!   Yes, using the Debian install.  Still very new to this, 
but to start from the top, I downloaded the Weewx_3.8.0.1_all.deb file.  It 
resides in the Download folder.  

>From terminal, I ran each line in the Config apt (copy/paste) and then each 
>line in the Install.  

Now I get Weewx already the newest version.   No prompts for location, etc.  
this would create the original config file?

Somewhere in there, I’m sure I didn’t install it correctly.  :)
