I would have thought that should be about it - along with making sure the new station has the right archive interval to match what you were using. You may also need to possibly (just guessing) change some 'software preferred' sensors to 'hardware preferred ' or vice versa. Basically it should work but there may be tweaks necessary which are vantage configuration specific.
