Hi,

The weeWX config file is weewx.conf and,depending on how you installed 
weeWX, it is located in either the /home/weewx or /etc/weewx directories. 
The error message you quote is referring to /etc/init.d/weewx, the file 
that controls weeWX when run as a service. I don't see why you would want 
to change the permissions to this file.

Also as you appear to be starting out, a tip for when things go wrong, 
learn how to capture the text on terminal/display of your Linux machine and 
post a copy of the command entered and the corresponding output. That makes 
it much easier for us to see what you did and exactly what the Linux 
response was.
