It is not clear from your post what is in your sensor map, but I am assuming
one of the lines is:
rain = rain_total.0B4E.Acurite5n1Packet
This does not tally with the AcuRite example in the sdr driver readme
(https://github.com/matthewwall/weewx-sdr) which gives an AcuRite example rain
sensor map that looks like:
rain_total = rain_total.0BFA.Acurite5n1Packet
Have you tried this?
