Not quite sure if this is part of other thread re interceptor/observer or something else but in any case to tie this off.
The interceptor driver will emit a rain field that is derived from successive dailyrainin values. This rain value will be emitted in loop packets that are produced as often as the interceptor driver intercepts a packet containing dailyrainin from your station, about as realtime as your station is capable of. By default weeWX will separately add in a calculated rainRate field to each loop packet containing rain data.
