an html file such as index.html is created by the corresponding template such as index.html.tmpl
the template file is located typically in ……../skins/Standard/index.html.tmpl reports are run to generate html pages only once per archive cycle - triggered by REC packets, not LOOP REC packets are created and stored in the archive database every archive interval as specified in weewx.conf for software generation or according to interval in hardware station if specified as generation = hardware.
