Roelof, Thank you for this info. Most of this is what I have already found and at this point my friend has not had any luck with. Someone from this group will be helping us with a working image we will copy to a SD card. If this works then we will go over the steps he used to get us there. Its certainly not as easy as a Windows point, click, install, enjoy.
