This doesn't have anything to do with weewx actually, it's just an annoyance I've seen using the acurite access hub. I've noticed that it seems to stop handshaking with wunderground for several hours, usually on the weekends. At first I thought this had to do with maintenance on the wunderground site, then I thought it was a routing issue with the hub itself. I read something on the acurite site that changing your home address forces a new handshake with wunderground; not sure if that's true or not. The issue seems to fix itself on it's own after a few hours. When it occurs, there are no packets to wunderground coming out out of the hub at all, but the acurite site updates just fine. I mention this because I'm using the sniff option with weewx and I'd like to change that over to intercept, but it's not going to be too worthwhile if I have to switch back to force handshaking again. I'm not too thrilled about sharing my data with wunderground since their purchase by IBM and their pulling free access keys to people that share weather. I much preferred using the old acurite internet bridge, but the old acurite site was shut down and ... well.
