I purchased a new DVP2 with a Davis USB data logger. Since I don't have a
RPi yet, I've connected it to the laptop running Ubuntu 18.04. Freshly
installed weewx.

I have exactly the same issue as reported above. Is it possible the Davis
USB data logger is set to something like "USB Express" mode and that's why
it doesn't work?
I remember I had to use the Windows software (probably Weatherlink?) to
switch the mode to standard USB in my DVP2 at home.

Thanks for the hints.
