Hi there!

I have a weewx at home, but also an other one located at my parents place.
it's setup on an old raspberry that I connect by SSH for check, update or
whatever.
I noticed recently that updates are down...my raspbian is too old and don't
receive anymore updates.
My plan is to prepare a replacement machine with a new OS, weewx ready so I
can plug it next time I'm there.
it may be an x86 style (there are some nice thinclient that could be
purchased refurbished for very low price) or raspberry or similar
(nanopi?...)

Anyway, whatever the hardware, I am looking for a very long term support,
so I don't need to perform release upgrade that I would prefer avoid from
ssh.

I would be happy to have some suggestion for weewx friendly linux with
support, let'say >5years. Any recommandations ?

I recently heard about "ubuntu core" which is made for IoT, long term &
security. It seems nice on the paper, but I have no clue if installing
weewx on this could be easy or painful.
it seems that some feature like "apt-get" are not available out of the box
like regular ubuntu server.

Best regards,
