HI Chris,
in Australia we have a similar situation but I have found customising the 
reports to be sufficient. I have used METRICWX as the database units from 
the start, so I can read sensible numbers there.
I suppose our main difference is standardising on hectoPascals for 
pressure, but that happens to be the same as mbar, so I have simply used 
that in the reports.
