This worked for me:
In weewx.conf find these leafs:
[[Defaults]]
[[[Units]]]
# The following section overrides the label used for each type
of unit
[[[[Labels]]]]
meter = " meter", " meters" # You may prefer "metre".
day = " day", " days"
hour = " hour", " hours"
minute = " minute", " minutes"
second = " second", " seconds"
NONE = ""
Edit/remove one of the options for meter, so you get meter = " meter" or
meter = " meters" (or what ever you prefer).
Restart weewx, wait for weewx to generate a new set of files, then refresh
your browser.
