OK, thank you. I'm starting to investigate the new to me EnviroMonitor hardware & monthly cloud costs. I assume the EnviroMonitor protocol is quite different from the VP2 since the Davis site states that VP2 wireless communications will not work with the EnviroMonitor hardware.
It would be great if my beloved weewx could support the EM hardware. However, given the initial cost of the gateway, nodes & sensors I'm guessing it is too expensive for most weather watchers. I think I can justify the additional expense for the farm given the expanded node network & sensor array. However the cloud expenses & Davis storing my data are sort of a bummer. Doug B.
