It seems the station only gets back online when there's power outage, it's 
in a remote place and it coincides with R-Pi reboots. I'm using a new cable 
at the moment but it's all the same as with the one that came with the 
weather station.
I guess it doesn't hurt trying mode 3, I'm using 4 as it's supposedly the 
most reliable one.

if you mean the Clear/Reset buttons on the back this isn't something I can 
do as I don't live in the location where the station is.
