The issue is that the SteelSeries skin that generates the gauge-data.txt file does not include windrose data(if you installed the skin via the weewx-steelseries extension <https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/steelseries> it would have hidden the windrose gauge). There is no ‘patch’ that I am aware of. You could install the weewx-realtime_gauge-data extension <https://github.com/gjr80/weewx-realtime_gauge-data> which does include windrose data. The realtime_gauge-data extension also has the benefit of updating the gauges at your loop interval rather than your archive interval. Note that the realtime_gauge-data extension relies on the SteelSeries skin for the JavaScript and HTML code so do not uninstall the SteelSeries skin, just follow the realtime_gauge-data extension install instructions.
