I can present a little addition to that WeeWX extension: There are 3 new observation types:
- solarAzimuth: solar azimuth (compass direction of the sun) - solarAltitude: solar altitude - solarPath: percentage of the time elapsed between sunrise and sunset What is the difference between solarAzimuth, solarAltitude and $almanac.sun.az, $almanac.sun.alt, respectively? - solarAzimuth and solarAltitude are output to MQTT and thus allow live updates on web sites. - As solarAzimuth and solarAltitude are observation types, they can be saved to the database (as they indeed are) and displayed in diagrams.
