Thanks. I need to play around with WXT520 settings. Reading the WXT520 driver 
software source code, it expects ASCII continuous on RS232. It gets confusing 
as the driver asks which communication protocol to use - serial/nmea/sdi12. I 
assume that is the message format?

If I wire directly to the RaspPi, I need to enable the serial input on the 
GPIO. I will figure that out in due course. Then tell the driver which serial 
port to use.
