Before, we relied on redirects which did not pass on bookmark anchors. In an attempt to fix that, I switched to something that uses symbolic links --- no redirects. However, most browsers cache the redirects, so you'll get 404 errors until you invalidate the cache.
This morning, Matthew switched to still another scheme, which seems to be returning 404 errors. So, I switched things back.
