Within five years i have lost three sd cards. All of them were used in Pi 4. All had the same kind of error, which results in a complete write protection. As long as the writing concerned logging into a virtual partition, it could not be detected. So it could take some hours until the failure was detected. Two were Samsung branded, one of them was a micro sd card, only one Intenseo. Fortunately, it was easy to copy the data onto a new sd card, as all data happen to be unerasably conserved. Unfortunately some data were lost. I have now a PI5 with a SSD mounted. I do not trust in sd cards for long term usage any longer.
