Just to close the loop on this one, Tom requested that I create an 
extension rather than a PR toward weewx itself.  Adding stuff to weewx 
itself makes it less wee :-)

It's definitely a niche case, but if anybody has interest in posting in 
Weather Underground format to a second site see (github link) 
<https://github.com/vinceskahan/weewx-wundergroundlike> for the extension. 
 I added it to the wiki as well.
