Right now, the icons are working without me having to make any
changes—thank you very much.

Hi Colin,
When you say "my original BT system", are you referring
to the original, *Belchertown* or the *New Belchertown* ?
You can check in .../*public_html/images* to see if all
the necessary .png's are there:
# ls -la part*
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 3374 2026-07-12 17:19
partly-cloudy-day.png
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 3165 2026-07-12 17:19
partly-cloudy-night.png
P.s going to do a rebuild to your version soon, thanks
for keeping BT alive!
Ah, the above may answer my question. You are referring
to the original *Belchertown.
*btw, I am not the one keeping BT alive. all credit goes
to uajqq!

I haven't been following the rest of this discussion,
but the partly cloudy icon on my original BT system is
missing at times too. It never happened or worried me
enough to chase it down.

Hi,
/This is a slightly lengthy response but it should
be a quick read./
Since v2.0, I do not see any Issues with missing
icons. I checked the git logs for the repo and
nothing in the text. It may be possible that the
issue was resolved and as it was minor, it did not
make it in the git log.
On your main page, when the problem happens, is the
Icon also not found? Here?
*_Background_*
I believe the code uses the data from
https://wetter.affolter.familyds.net/json/current_conditions.json,
in particular the icon element, to look up the
image: icon element + '.png'
In the example below, it would display the
"partly-cloudy-day.png" icon.
Given the above, here are some options.
Next time it happens, check the
*current_conditions.json* file and see what the
value is for the icon element. Do you find a .png in
.../images?
If so, you could submit an Issue -
https://github.com/uajqq/weewx-belchertown-new/issues
If not, well, you could submit an Issue as well. :)
In both cases, include the
*current_conditions.json* file.
The other thing that you can do is upgrade from 2.0v
to 2.1v beta 3 - see
https://github.com/uajqq/weewx-belchertown-new/releases
- or you could try the development branch and see if
it is resolved.
I hope the above helps.

The icon cannot be found and is replaced with

The problem does not occur for all items;
./images/mostly-clear-day.png is OK.
