I would convert a ‘copy’ of the old small schema db to the new bigger
schema, do a db dump of the archive table from that after it is updated,
then do a db restore of the updated old db into a ‘copy’ of the new bigger
schema db. You’ll need to rebuild daily when you’re done. See the wiki for
info there.

https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/Switching-to-the-new-wview_extended-schema
has how to do the conversion offline.

Basically copy your weewx.conf to another name (updatedb.conf or whatever)
then run the weectl database reconfigure command and specify the —config
option. You should likely change the filename in your .conf file to not
alter your running db. Unfortunately the weectl database command does not
have a simple —dbfilename or equivalent switch so you need to do a little
sleight of hand.

Email me if I lost you there or if you need help with getting the old db
updated. It’s easier than it sounds.
