2- there's nothing about an ipod that makes you have to shuffle. you can not hit the "shuffle" button. It's album based on the ipod... if you scroll in that direction. 3- you don't have to get an ipod. every new thing that one of the crazy new generation adopts does not have to be adopted by everyone.

3000 LP's and 2000 45's? You must have some seriously big house or at
least big storage area. I don't think I could hav 3,000 of ANYTHING
in my apt. For the longest time I just listened to the radio because
I never had to change it or decide what I wanted to listen to. I
listen to oldies stations that pretty much only play music I like and
don't repeat too often, so it's less effort. I don't think I could
even FIND 2000 albums I wanted and I don't know how I could ever
listen to them all. That's like an album a day for 6 years. I don't
have a record player, but my parents have tons of records. I bought a
record once and put it on the back ledge of the back seat of the car
and it melted on the way home. That was a lesson truly learned the
hard way. I was probably 10 at the time, and not too happy about it.
