We take it for granted, but can you imagine if we weren't allowed to
publish anything critical of the government or religion or whatever
for fear of severe punishment?  I realize I'm not saying anything you
don't already know, but I think sometimes we forget how lucky we are.
It's why the whole Muslim cartoon thing seemed so alien to us, why we
didn't "get it".  There is pretty much nothing we can write that would
cause violence or physical punishment. A fine, maybe, but that's it.
4-letter words get us into more trouble than demonizing the president,
which I think is a problem in itself, but that's another story.  OK,
I'll get off my soapbox now.
