being funny and insulting are 2 different things. Puns about the sofa
weren't insulting me per se.  I may not thought they were riotously
funny, but they weren't offensive.  I like Gene.  I like discussing his
opinion on stuff and seeing whether his readers/chatters share his
opinion.  I like the fact that most of you share my political leanings
and general world view.  I have always wondered whether sense of humor
means being able to come up with funny things or appreciating funny
things. I LOVE standup comedy and Monty Python and laughing at W until
you cry because it's so scary.  I may not aspire to be a standup
comedian, but I appreciate those who are.  I love the comics.  I like
the fact that people have these random issues or anecdotal experiences
they want to share and see if others have had similar experiences and
what they did in the same circumstances.  I like when people bring
funny new articles to the attention of the group.

But I didn't sign up to be insulted, harrassed, or bullied.  Again,
deprecating comments will not scare me away from this group, especially
as given by strangers who live miles away, but I don't think they
contribute much to the board.  My 2c.
