I had no idea who My Morning Jacket was until they played with the
Boston Pops a week or so ago. I went to 5 Boston Pops concerts this
season, which is only 2 months long. I went to 5 concerts in 5 weeks,
once a week for the entire month of June. My Morning Jacket was not
one of them. I didn't have a burning desire to see a rock band with
an orchestra accompaniment. I did see them on David Letterman,
though, with a representative subset of the pops making the trek to NYC.

Speaking of clothes, this is hilarious: In one of my London
guidebooks there is a description of a shopping area called Westbourne
Grove, listing the many stores in the area. One of them is described
thus: "the brilliantly named VPL, home of pretty camisoles and flirty
knickers." I totally need to check this place out. I will try to
remember to take a picture of the sign and post it here. I should
tell Gene about this also. I love Time Out London! If anyone is
going to London I definitely recommend this book. Gives great insider
information, written by Londoners for Londoners, from the people who
bring you Time Out London magazine (obviously). I suspect I'm not
going to go the whole week without buying at leat 1 piece of clothing,
and probably spend twice as much as I would here with the exchange
rate being what it is. But why bother going to London if you aren't
going to shop? Buying clothes while traveling is a great way to get
practical souvenirs!
