Were they certain the target of the missed connection was them? Usually the descriptions are so vague that you can't be 100% sure unless you contact the poster, I would think. I wonder if the posters usually get any replies, no replies, or many "wrong number" replies. "Hi, I'm replying to your missed connection ad about the guy on the subway wearing green shirt. I was on the subway that day and wearing a green shirt and I work for such and such company" (or whatever). "no I'm sorry, the guy I saw was 6'3" and works in such and such different place" etc. Getting wrong number calls like that must be a pain.
