My husband and I recently took a couple workshop (at hippie camp)... Anyway the one thing that kept coming up over and over was our sheer thrill at being able to make the other person laugh. I can say even during our toughest times we would laugh with each other at least once a day. We both have a weird sense of humor and often laugh at things that make other people roll their eyes but it is perfect for us.
Humor is something that doesn't really fade... like beauty or firm breasts. Of course for the right proce I guess you could get those back if you wanted too.
