Naw, it's the U.S. I just heard a story on The World (public radio show) that reported, "A survey of international attitudes toward evolution finds far more skepticism of Darwin's theory in America than in Europe or Japan. Of the 34 countries included in the study, only Turkey scored lower than the United States in the acceptance of evolution." Basically, a huge percentage of Europeans and Japanese accept evolution as scientifically established. In the U.S., though, the perception of science is far more distorted by religious beliefs. IOW, we've got a lot of religious nutcases in this country.
